SOMERS. JOHN M., an attorney of Albany, was born in Steuben County, Indiana, December 13, 1854. In 1889 he came to Oregon and engaged in preparing a set of abstracts for Benton County. Three years ado he began practicing law in Linn County. Mr. Somers was a member of the national convention which nominated Harrison in 1888, from the twelfth district of Indiana. In 1892 he stumped Baker and Malheur Counties, and Linn County in 1894. He was a delegate to the league from the Lebanon Club in 1895 and 1896.
